The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Sri Lanka Region together with its Maldives Chapter Member Group recently organized a Dinner Meeting at Faashana Maalam in Dhaubaaruge, Maldives. The Guest Speaker at the event was the Director, Postgraduate Institute of Management, Dr. Uditha Liyanage who took the participants through a thought provoking and insightful presentation titled “Tough times? Be brilliant on the Basics”. The programme received excellent feedback from the over sixty participants at the programme, among whom some of the leading corporate and public figures in Male could be spotted. Ms. Chitrangani Herat Gunaratne, Regional Director for South Asia; Mr. Shiraz Latiff, Chairman, CIM Sri Lanka Region; Mr. Abdulla Reyshan, Chairman, CIM Member Group - The Maldives Chapter and other officials of the Member Group were also present on this occasion.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Region launched its first ever member group in The Maldives in May, 2008 as the first step towards uplifting the profile of the marketing profession in the region. Since then, several ground breaking initiatives have been taken.
Ms. Chitrangani Herat Gunaratne, addressing the gathering stated that the response received was a great encouragement for The Institute to organize similar events in The Maldives in the future and she congratulated The Maldives Member Group officials for making it a reality.
The Chairman, CIM Sri Lanka Region, Mr. Shiraz Latiff enlightened the audience on CIM’s endeavour to promote marketing education and the CIM qualification in the country, as he pledged CIM Sri Lanka’s continuous support and guidance in future too.
